Set up and use the Real-Time Model

Manage scheduling and automate the Daily Plan reorganization based on real-time field progress, such as:

  • Task completion status.

  • Technician GPS locations.

Create a new real-time model

To create a new model:

  1. Navigate to Features > Core > Daily and Multi-day Plan > Daily Plan.

  2. Click the Reprocessing tab. 

  3. In the list of resources, select the resource you want to configure.

  4. Click Configure Model

  5. In the Real-Time Scheduling Models List window, click New Model

  6. Click the General Parameters tab.

  7. Enter:

    • Description: A description of the model.

    • Extended description: A detailed explanation of the model’s purpose.

    • Automatic validation: Whether to automatically validate the sequence against real-time information.

    • Active: Whether to activate the model.

    • To crystallize: Whether to crystallize the sequence for the model.

    • Default: Whether the model is the default scheduling model.

  8. Click the Advanced Parameters tab.

  9. Enter:

    • Detailed total: Whether to show the detailed total.

    • Duration prediction: Whether to show the predicted task duration.

    • Team suggestion: Whether to show the suggested team for a resource.

  10. Click the Reprocessing Parameters tab. 

  11. Enter:

    • Simulation rule: The rule for the system to process and assign orders.

    • Exchange activities among resources: Whether to allow the model to switch activities between resources. 

    • Additional activities: Whether to let resources schedule additional activities.

    • On duty availability: Whether a resource is considered on-duty.

  12. Click Insert

Add activities and skills to a model

To add new activities and skills to the activities list for the model: 

  1. Click Configure Model

  2. In the Real-Time Scheduling Models list window, click New Model

  3. Click the Activity tab.

  4. Enter:

    • Activity: To select an activity from the drop-down menu.

    • Exchange activities among resources: To determine whether to allow the model to switch this activity between resources.

  5. Click Add

Add a WO and work cycle to a model

To add a WO type and work cycle to the WO / Cycle list:

  1. Under the WO / Cycle type section, enter:

    • WO type: The type of WO.

    • Work cycle: The type of work cycle.

    • Exchange activities among resources: Permission to allow the model to switch activities among different resources for this work cycle.

  2. Click Add

Create a new model sequence

  1. To view and select a new scheduling model, click New Model Sequence.

  2. Enter:

    • Description: A description of the model.

    • Automatic Validation: Permission to determine if the sequence automatically validates against real-time information.

    • Active: Whether the model is active or not.

    • To crystallize: Permission to determine if the model sequence crystallizes.

  3. Click Save.

Edit an existing model

To edit an existing scheduling model:

  1. Navigate to Features > Core > Daily and Multi-day Plan > Daily Plan.

  2. Click the Reprocessing tab. 

  3. In the resource list, select the resource you want to configure.

  4. Click Configure Model

  5. In the Real-Time Scheduling Models List window, click your scheduling model. 

  6. In the Scheduling Model interface, edit the information.

  7. Click Save.

Automate high-priority assignments

If you have urgent tasks that need immediate automated placement in a plan:

  1. Navigate to one:

    • Clipboard

    • Schedulable Activities

    • Urgent

  2. Select activities you want to assign to the real time model.

  3. Navigate to the Reprocessing tab.

  4. Click Assign Selected

Note: To find the best slot, the real-time model only focuses on these interventions.

Audit and compare plan changes

To review the effects of changes in your daily plan:

  1. Click Archive

  2. In the Reelaboration History window, select a row to inspect specific details:

    • Excluded Resources: View which technicians were skipped and why.

    • Plan Edits: View all confirmed, canceled, or new WOs for each resource.

  3. To see a before-and-after of the Gantt chart, click Open processing snap-shot.

Set up automation calendars

To add a new automated cycle to the daily plan:

  1. Click Processing Parameters.

  2. In the Processing Parameters pop-up window, select a model from the Model drop-down menu.

  3. Set these fields:

    • Day.

    • Start time.

    • End time.

    • Cyclic nature.

      • The system requires a minimum reprocessing cycle of 20 minutes.

  4. Select or deselect the Automatic Validation checkbox.

    • Automatic: Sends updated schedules directly to technicians’ mobile devices.

    • Manual: A dispatcher must review changes before they are sent to the field.

  5. Click Add.

Sync field progress

To ensure your plan reflects real-time:

  1. Go to the Day Parameters section.

  2. Choose an action:

    • Enable synchronization: Determine if the technician's last GPS and status synchronization updates the daily plan.

Set activation time: Determine if the sync is enabled only after a specific time of day.
