Assign mandatory or preferred resources in bulk
This topic guides you through the process of assigning mandatory or preferred technicians and teams to multiple schedulable tasks simultaneously. This feature streamlines the planning process, especially when dealing with large volumes of tasks that require the same resources, such as in daily operations or for upcoming field campaigns. It is particularly useful for geographically clustered tasks, like meter reading operations or linear asset maintenance.
This task is performed within the Daily and/or Multi-Day Plan of the NextGen FSM Platform.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, you must filter and load the desired schedulable activities into the planning dashboard.

Assign resources from the Schedulable Activities List

Navigate to the Schedulable Task List panel in the planning dashboard.

Select the tasks you want to associate resources with. The selected task cards will be highlighted.

Click the three-dot menu at the top of the list panel.

Select the “Associate Resources & Teams” option from the menu. A dedicated panel will open.

Use the drag-and-drop interface to move technicians or teams from the list of available resources into the mandatory or preferred assignment areas.

(Optional) To remove a resource from the assignment list, click the trash icon next to the resource name or drag it back to the list of available resources.

Click Save to apply the changes to all selected tasks.
Assign resources from the Map View

Navigate to the Map View panel in the planning dashboard.

Visually identify and select the relevant activities on the map. The selected tasks will be highlighted.

Open the “Associate Resources & Teams” functionality via the dedicated option. A panel will appear.

Use the drag-and-drop interface to assign preferred and/or mandatory technicians or teams to all the selected activities.

(Optional) To remove an assignment, click the trash icon or drag the resource back to the available list.

Click Save to confirm your assignments.
