Synchronize work order (WO) permit validity with the scheduling calendar. Ensure field activities only proceed when legal, technical, and administrative prerequisites are met.
Manually schedule with permits
To manually schedule:
-
Navigate to Features > Core > Daily and Multi-day plan > Daily Plan.
-
Enter the search filters for WOs in the Filters menu.
-
See Search Work Orders.
-
-
Click the Schedulable Activities tab.
-
Click and drag an activity onto the designated resource or team timeline.
-
Manage the system’s feedback:
-
If no permits are required, the assignment completes automatically.
-
If blocker permits are missing or expired, the operation is rejected, a blocking warning appears, and the activity remains unassigned.
-
If non-blocker permits are missing or expired, a warning appears.
-
To ignore the missing prerequisite, click Continue.
-
To stop the assignment, click Cancel.

Understand manual validation logic
|
Type of permit |
Permit status |
Result of planning action |
|
No Permits |
N/A |
The action is allowed, but subject to other constraints like skills. |
|
Blocker |
Acquired & Valid |
The action is allowed. |
|
Blocker |
Not Acquired or Expired |
You receive a hard rejection alert that the action is blocked. |
|
Non-Blocking |
Acquired & Valid |
The action is allowed. |
|
Non-Blocking |
Not Acquired or Expired |
The system gives you a warning and asks if you want to proceed or cancel. |
Understand automatic scheduling with permits
In automatic scheduling, mandatory prerequisites must be met before data passes to the mapping and routing engine:
-
The algorithm verifies if all blocker permits were obtained and are valid within the processing period.
-
If a blocker permit is missing or invalid for the entire period, the activity is rejected.
-
To see rejected tasks, navigate to Features > Scheduling Optimization > Automatic Scheduling > Scheduling Log.
-
-
If permits are only valid for a specific window of time, overlapping validity periods determine the only time when the activity can be planned.
Understand partial outcomes and permit expiration logic
When a technician cannot complete a task, the system determines if the permit should remain valid or be expired.:
-
Upon receiving an incomplete outcome, the system checks the permits for a single intervention configuration table.
-
If the specific combination of permit type and outcome type exists in this table, the system automatically expires the permit with single-use logic.
-
To plan the return visit, the dispatcher must first:
-
Re-access permit management at Configuration > Core > Permits > Permits for Single Intervention.
-
Obtain and register a new valid permit.
-
Attempt the scheduling action again.
