Manage day saturation

To prevent burnout and maintain flexibility, ensure that resources don’t have a completely saturated schedule. Reserve time for non-routine or extra activities to limit how much operational resources can be automatically scheduled.

Search for saturation rules

To locate specific saturation rules:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > Day Saturation > Day Saturation Rules.

  2. As needed, enter:

    • Code.

    • Description.

    • Operations center.

    • Unavailability rules type.

    • Validity interval.

  3. Click Search.

Create a new day saturation rule

To define a new rule for resource availability:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > Day Saturation > Day Saturation Rules.

  2. At the bottom, select New unavailability rule.

  3. Enter a unique:

    • Code.

    • Description.

  4. In the Unavailability rule type dropdown, select either:

    • Absolute.

    • Percentage.

  5. In the Value field, enter minutes or percentages that the resource cannot work.

  6. In the Validity interval field, enter:

    • From: The date you would like to start.

    • To: The date you would like to finish.

  7. In the Operations center tab, select an operations center from the dropdown.

  8. Click the Add + button.

    • Optional: Add more Operations centers if needed.

    • Note: To delete an operations center, in the List of operations centers table, click the Delete icon next to the operations center.

  9. Click the Date tab.

  10. Select a specific weekday or: 

    • Public holiday.

    • Day before holiday.

    • Date.

  11. Click Add.

    • Optional: Add more dates if needed.

    • Note: To delete a date, in the List of dates table, click the Delete icon next to the date.

  12. To save the rule, click Insert.

Edit saturation rules

To update saturation rule parameters, locations, or dates:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > Day Saturation > Day Saturation Rules.

  2. From the List of unavailable scheduling rules table, click the row of the rule.

  3. In the Edit unavailability rule tab, you can modify:

Associate saturation rules

To assign a saturation rule to specific technicians or teams:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > Day Saturation >.Associate Saturation Rules.

  2. Optional: Either:

    • Select an operations center from the dropdown.

    • In the Rule description field, enter keywords.

  3. Click Search.

  4. In the Unavailable scheduling rules table, click a rule.

  5. Click the Branch teams tab.

  6. In the Work team table, click any teams the rule applies to.

  7. Click Save.

Note: To apply different saturation levels to different groups within an operations center, add multiple rules.
