To balance activities across your workforce, group work orders (WOs) and set limits on how much work resources can perform for specific types of tasks.
Create and manage work order groups
To categorize the activities you want to limit, group specific WO types together.
Add a new work order group
To create a new WO group:

Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > Day Occupation > WO Groups.

On the bottom, click New WO Group.

In the WO group window, enter a description.

As needed, enter:
-
Id.
-
Sorting.
-
-
Optional: If a group should be visible, check the Active checkbox.

Click Insert.
Associate work order types with a group
To connect work order types with a group:

Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > Day Occupation > WO Groups.

In the Search tab, enter a description if needed.
-
Click Search.
-
In the WO groups list, find the desired group.
-
In that row, click the Associate WO types icon.
-
In the WO group window, drag types from the Non-associated WO types table to the Associated WO types table.

Click Save.
Define daily engagement rules
To ensure specific task types don’t take over daily schedules, determine the maximum time a resource or team can spend on a specific WO group.
Create new engagement rules
To define the engagement limits on specific tasks:

Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > Day Occupation > Day Occupation Rules.

On the bottom, click New rule.
-
In the Occupation rule window, type:
-
Description: Explain the rule.
-
Value: Enter the limit.
-
-
From the dropdowns, select:
-
Operations center.
-
WO group.
-
Type:
-
Absolute.
-
Time.
-
Percentage.
-
-
-
Click Save.
Edit an existing engagement rule
To modify engagement limits on specific tasks:

Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > Day Occupation > Day Occupation Rules.

Select an operations center.
-
Click Search.
-
In the Employment rules table, click the row of the rule.
-
Update fields like:
-
Description.
-
WO group.
-
Type.
-
Value.
-
Sorting.
-
Active.
-
-
Click Save.
Assign rules to resources and teams
Specify which individuals or work groups the engagement rule applies to within the operations center.
Associate resources with a rule
To connect resources with engagement rules:

Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > Day Occupation > Day Occupation Rules.

Select an operations center.
-
Click Search.
-
In the Employment rules table, click the Associate resources button next to the rule.

In the Occupation rule window, drag resources from the Non-associated resources table to the Associated resources table.

Click Save.
Associate teams with a rule
To connect teams with engagement rules:

Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > Day Occupation > Day Occupation Rules.

Select an operations center.
-
Click Search.
-
In the Employment rules table, next to the rule, click the Associate teams button.
-
In the Occupation rule window, drag teams from the Non-associated teams table to the Associated teams table.

Click Save.
