Manage tools

Audience: Admins, Regional Managers, Dispatchers

To ensure technicians have the tools required to complete their work, match real-time demands in the field with daily availability in the local warehouse. Define, categorize, distribute, and monitor equipment across your organization.

To automatically calculate the necessary tools whenever a job is generated, associate equipment requirements with work cycles. When you assign work orders (WOs) that include work cycles, the system automatically compares the tool requirements with the current equipment inventory. The daily plan warns you if field demand is greater than the local inventory.

Module capabilities

  • Categorize tools and tools types for streamlined reporting and searching.

  • Embeds tool requirements directly into work cycles so the system automatically assigns necessary tools whenever a job is created.

  • Tracks regional warehouse capacity, allowing local managers to adjust daily availability levels.

  • Monitor tool allocations on the Daily Plan.

Example

When a utility company adds a new fleet of specialized service vehicles, an admin registers the vehicle class in the global master dictionary. Then they associate this vehicle requirement with high-voltage repair work cycles. As regional hubs receive their vehicles, local warehouse managers update their daily availability calendars. When dispatchers assign high-voltage repairs on the daily plan, the system automatically checks the local center's calendar to deduct stock in real-time and warn the dispatcher if they try to schedule more jobs than available vehicles allow.
