Define Work Order Filters for scheduling

Define specific criteria for prioritizing Work Orders (WOs) during scheduling. Allow users to distinguish between different types of tasks, such as prioritizing facility maintenance over customer-specific requests. This ensures the scheduling algorithm aligns with business priorities and that the right work is executed at the right time based on dynamic operational needs.

Create a New WO Filter

To define a new prioritization rule from scratch:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > WO Filters.

  2. Click New WO Filter.

  3. In the WO Filter Definition window, enter the following information:

    1. Code: a unique identifier for the filter.

    2. Description: a brief explanation of the filter’s purpose.

    3. Visible: make the filter active in the system.

  4. Define any filter clauses.

    1. See Manage filter clauses.

  5. Click Insert.

Search for existing filters

To locate a specific filter:

  1. Navigate to the top search section.

  2. Enter values in the Code, Description, or Visible fields.

  3. The bottom table will automatically update to list the filters matching your criteria.

Edit an existing filter

  1. Click the specific row of the filter you wish to modify in the results table.

  2. Update the Code, Description, or Visible status as needed.

  3. Click MODIFY.

Manage Filter Clauses

Clauses define the specific logic (such as "Due Date is less than 5 days"). Multiple clauses are managed with "AND" logic, which means that a WO must meet all conditions to be included.

Add a filter clause

  1. In the WO Filter Definition window, go to the Clauses List Filter section and click Add Clause.

  2. In the Clause Filter window, select a WO Filter Parameter from the dropdown.

  3. Select an Operator (e.g., =, IN, BETWEEN, NOT IN). The available operators will change based on the parameter type.

  4. Enter the comparison Value:

    • For Punctual Values, manually type or select the specific value.

    • For Dates, you may enable Compare on the difference to set logic like "Within 5 days" by defining the Measure Unit and Value.

  5. If using operators like IN or NOT IN, click Add Value to include multiple criteria in the expression.

  6. Click OK to save the clause.

Delete a clause

  • To remove a logic line, click Delete Clause next to the specific record in the clause table.

  • To remove a specific value from a list, click Delete Value to remove the last comparison record entered in an expression.

Advanced Filtering: Multistage Activities

To include or exclude complex workflows:

  1. Navigate to the clause definition or filter settings.

  2. Use the Filtering Multistage Activities toggle or parameter to determine if the filter should apply to WOs with multiple sequential stages.
