Configure resource selection modes in scheduling models

Use logic types and bulk rules to define how resources and teams are automatically included in or excluded from scheduling models. To reduce manual configuration time and prevent scheduling errors, ensure that only intended personnel are scheduled.

Prerequisites

You must have access to the Scheduling model definition interface.

Set the resource selection mode

To select whether resources or teams are included in the resource mode:

  1. Navigate to the model definition interface (for Virtual Model, Reprocessing Model, Emergency Response Model and Booking with Scheduling Model).

  2. In the mandatory Resource selection mode combo box, select the model’s logic:

    • Include Selected: You must manually select each entity.

    • Exclude Selected: All resources and teams are included by default.

      • Note: To remove resources and teams, you must manually select them.

  3. Click Save.

Important: Once the model is saved, the selection mode becomes read-only and cannot be modified.

Define exclude mode default parameters

To set the global rules for all resources that do not have custom overrides in exclude selected mode:

  1. In the Teams default parameters tab, select an integration type (for virtual models only):

    • By team (default): A single task is assigned to all team members simultaneously.

    • By single resource: Individual tasks are assigned to individual resources, in addition to team tasks.

    • No-one: No integration with individual tasks occurs.

  2. If resources not assigned to a team must work as individuals (not managed as worker), toggle the Not in team switch to True.

    • Note: This is for virtual models only.

  3. To allow the model to utilize overtime for included resources, toggle the Use overtime switch to True.

    • Note: This is the default.

  4. Click Save.

Notes:

  • Crew Shell aren't affected by "Exclude selected" logic and must always be selected manually.

  • Formation aren’t managed by "Exclude selected" logic

  • To maintain original behavior, legacy models automatically migrate to include selected mode.
