Manage unexpected skills in work orders

Audience: Dispatchers and administrators

Keep flagged work orders (WOs) open as you update unexpected skills and tools that are required onsite. 

Prerequisites

Before you start, check with your administrator that:

  • Your user profile has the fsm.core.skill.override.edit permission enabled.

  •  The WO has the “Enable insufficient skills” flag set to true.

    • The WO status should be blocked, unscheduled, and visible in the accounting monitor. 

Find a blocked work order

To search for WOs marked for override skills:

  1. Click Features > Core > Work Order Management > Accounting Monitor.

  2. On the right, in the Filters panel, enter data like:

    • Operation center.

    • Outcome cause (in the Execution data section).

  3. Click Search.

Override skills

Important: You can only make changes if you have permission to manage WOs. 

To make new skill configurations that apply to all future manual and automated scheduling:

  1. In the Accounting list, next to the WO, click the Three dots menu.

  2. Select Override skills.

  3. In the Skill override configuration window, update as needed:

    • Code.

    • Description.

    • Min Cardinality.

    • Max Cardinality.

  4. To find the skills you need, click the Skill override assignment section.

  5. Drag and drop skills from the Available skills column to the Assigned skills column.

  6. To adjust the cardinality for each skill, click the Increase level or Decrease level icons.

  7. Either:

    • To store the new skill configuration and keep the WO blocked, click Save.

      • The WO is blocked and unschedulable.

    • Overriding skills isn’t permitted for bundler operations.To exit without saving any changes, click Close.
