Navigate facility structures

Audience: Administrators and dispatchers

See a visual tree framework of your facilities. This view highlights the complete genealogy of a selected facility, displaying its ascendants (parent and root nodes) and descendants (child nodes).

Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure you have added a technical object.

Follow the UI path

All following instructions start from this system path:

1. Navigate to Features > Core > Asset Management > Technical Object Search.

2. In the Filters panel, fill in one or more of the search fields.

3. Click Search.

4. In the Search technical object table, find the desired technical object.

5. Click the Three dots menu > Show structure.

Understand objects on the facility tab

On the facilities consistency page, the Facility tab displays the active tree network of the selected facility. Each node in the tree represents a specific asset and provides a quick summary of its configuration. Nodes include:

• Facility type description: The overarching category of the asset, like “Lifting water system”.

• Facility name: The specific registered name of the asset.

• Facility status: The current operational state, like “Active”.

• Visual indicators: Icons, status colors, and facility type colors that help you quickly understand the asset's condition and category.

• List of facility features: The features this facility uses.

Navigate the tree

To control how much of the hierarchy you see:

1. On the Facility tab, right-click a node.

2. Select an action:

   • Expand / contract node: Use the + and - icons beside a node to show or hide its direct descendants (children).

   • Expand / collapse parent: Use the + and - icons beside a node to show its complete ascendant lineage and "sibling" nodes, or collapse the view to hide them.

   • View whole structure: Upload and display the entire tree framework back to the ultimate root facility.

   • Enable / disable reduced view: Toggle between a simplified view of the structure and the fully detailed original view.

   • Expand / collapse branch: Instantly reveal or hide all descendants within that specific branch.

View feature details

To view a facility’s master data record in read-only mode:

1. On the Facility tab, right-click a node.

2. In the List of facility features, either:

   • Right-click, then click the Display button.

   • On a node, click the Information icon > Detail.

Access facility structure history

The system can display a structure exactly as it existed on that date, so you can analyze when nodes were added, removed, or changed status. To compare the current tree framework with its historical state:

1. On the Facility tab, in the Load history field, enter a specific past date.

2. Click the Load history button.
