Edit technical objects

Audience: Administrators and dispatchers

Update a technical object's master data and modify its specific features to ensure the system uses the most accurate, up-to-date specifications. These facility details help you dispatch, create routes, track compliance, and perform field execution.

Prerequisites

Before you start:

• Ensure you have the necessary permissions to edit facility data.

• Ensure there is an existing facility type. See Manage facility types | Add a new facility type.

• To add a new technical object, see Create technical objects.

Follow the UI path

All following instructions start from this system path:

1. Navigate to Features > Core > Asset Management > Technical Object Search.

2. In the Filters panel, fill in one or more of the search fields.

3. Click Search.

4. In the Search technical object table, next to the facility you wish to manage, click the Three dots menu > Display.

Edit technical objects

To change information about a technical object:

1. In the Search technical object table, find the desired technical object.

2. Click the Three dots menu > Display.

3. On the Facility detail page, go to the Personal data tab.

4. As needed, edit the technical object’s information:

   • Enter master data: 

     • Registered name

     • Cost center (use the Search function to select from a list)

     • Facility status

     • Note: System-generated fields like ID, Code, and Facility type cannot be altered.

   • Update the normalized address details:

     • Country

     • City

     • Street

     • Floor

   • To use features from a template, see Create technical objects | Copy features from a template.

5. Click Save.
