Understand measuring point terminology
Some key terms for measuring elements are:

Measuring elements: Evaluates an object’s condition at a given time.

Measurements (Measuring documents): The historical log of recorded values of measuring elements at specific dates and times. It also includes the operator's details and any relevant notes.

Counters: Tracks the increase or decrease of a value over time, like an odometer.
Understand measurement rules and validation
To ensure data accuracy, the system applies validation rules when you log a measure:

Ranges: Measure values must fall within an existing minimum and maximum range.

For counters, this range validation applies to the cumulative value over time rather than the single recorded instance.

Absolute measures: The exact value recorded at a specific time.

For example, the absolute measurement of an odometer reading is 48,200 km.

Relative measures: The incremental difference between the current reading and the previously recorded reading.

For example, a technician can log in an additional 200 km.

Overflows: If a counter exceeds its physical or configured digit limit, the system processes it as a whole revolution or overflow.
