Create a Skill Division

Define the minimum number of resources needed for a specific set of skills. Ensure certain roles are assigned to separate resources when necessary.

Understand Skill Division

When there is more than one activity, skill division helps define how to distribute skills among the resources in the team. For example, a work order (WO) might have three required skills (like an electrician, mechanic, and welder). Therefore, there might be one, two, or three technicians needed to perform all three skills.

Skill division also ensures that certain roles are not "bundled" into a single person for safety or regulatory reasons. For example, even if a technician is certified as both a mechanic and an electrician, a skill division of two would force the system to assign two separate individuals to the task. This would prevent a single resource from performing multiple critical roles simultaneously during complex or hazardous operations.

Create a Skill Division

    1. Description: the skill division’s description.

    2. Code: the skill division’s internal code.
