Associate resources with a scheduling area

Define the specific geographical areas where a resource is eligible to perform work orders (WO). Ensure that WOs are only assigned to resources authorized for those territories.

Assign a resource to a scheduling area

To assign individual resources to a scheduling area:

  1. Navigate to Features > Core > Resource Management > Resources.

  2. Select the operations center’s (OC’s) teams from the drop-down.

  3. In the Scheduling resources list, find the resource.

  4. Click the three dots menu > Associate Scheduling Area.

  5. In the Scheduling area list, select the area.

  6. Click Save.

Note: A resource can only be assigned to one scheduling area.

Create a new resource

To create a new resource:

  1. At the bottom, click the New Scheduling Resource button.

  2. In the Resource data section, enter:

    • Operations center: The OC for the scheduling area.

    • User type: The type of user for the resource.

    • Serial number: The resource’s identification number.

    • Secondary identification number: The resource’s alternate identification number.

    • Surname: The resource’s last name.

    • Name: The resource’s first name.

  3. In the Organization section, enter:

    • Resource type: The type of resource.

    • Resource management: The way the resource should be managed.

  4. Click Save.

Assign teams to a scheduling area

To assign a team to a scheduling area:

  1. Navigate to Features > Core > Resource Management > Resources > Teams.

  2. Select the OC’s teams from the drop-down. 

  3. Click Search.

  4. In the Teams list, find the team.

  5. On the right side of the row, click the grid icon.

  6. In the Scheduling area list, select the team to associate with the required area.

  7. Click Save.

Note: A team can only be assigned to one scheduling area.

Create a new team

To add a new team for a scheduling area:

  1. At the bottom, click New Team.

  2. In the New team tab, under the Master data information section, enter:

    • Operations center: The scheduling area’s OC.

    • Code: A scheduling area’s unique code.

    • Description: A clear name or purpose for the scheduling area.

    • Team composition: The number of resources on the team.

    • Team type: The team’s crew type.

  3. In the Scheduling information section, enter:

    • Work schedule: The team’s work schedule type.

  4. Click Insert.
