Manage Scheduling Resources

Scheduling resources represent the field personnel, technicians, or assets that receive, execute, and debrief work orders within the system. This article guides you through setting up resource types, creating individual scheduling resources, associating mandatory location data, and using bulk import tools.

Prerequisites

Before creating scheduling resources, you must define the Resource Types (or User Types) that categorize them.

Configure Resource Types (UI Method)

  1. Navigate to: MAIN MENUCONFIGURATIONCORERESOURCE MANAGEMENTUSER TYPES

  2. Enter a unique Code and Description.

  3. Click the Insert button to save.

Bulk Import Resource Types

If you have a large list of resource types, you can import them using an Excel template:

  1. Navigate to: MAIN MENUCONFIGURATIONCOREDATA IMPORT/EXPORT TOOL

  2. From the Configuration field, select the Resource Type object.

  3. Click the Import button.

  4. Select your populated Excel file (e.g., GC_SchedulingResourceTypes_Import.xlsx) to upload.

Create Scheduling Resources

Once your Resource Types are established, you can proceed with registering individual scheduling resources.

Manual Configuration via UI

  1. Navigate to: MAIN MENUFEATURESCORERESOURCE MANAGEMENTRESOURCESNEW SCHEDULING RESOURCE

  2. Fill out the following mandatory fields:

    • User Type

    • Operations Center

    • Serial Number

    • Secondary Identification Number

    • Surname

    • Name

    • Resource Type

    • Resource Management

  3. Click the Save button.

Required Follow-up Actions

After creating a resource, you must associate it with addresses and operational boundaries:

  • Associate User Addresses: Select the resource and click the User Addresses button. You can add addresses using two methods:

    • Option A (Addresses associated with organization tab): Select an existing address linked to the resource's assigned Operations Center.

    • Option B (Address associated with the user tab): Enter a brand-new address specifically for this resource.

  • Associate Scheduling Areas: Select Associate Scheduling Areas and choose the geographical or operational boundary areas assigned to the resource.

Bulk Importing Scheduling Resources

For large-scale deployments, use the massive data import tool to upload resources, addresses, and logistics data simultaneously.

  1. Navigate to: MAIN MENUCONFIGURATIONCOREDATA IMPORT/EXPORT TOOL

  2. Select Scheduling Resources from the Configuration field dropdown.

  3. Click the Import button and upload your Excel template (e.g., GC_SchedulingResources_Import.xlsx).

Excel Template Structure

The structural layout of the scheduling resource import file consists of three mandatory worksheets:

  1. Scheduling Resources: Contains primary profile details, serial numbers, and type classifications.

  2. Addresses: Contains the localized home or operational base addresses for the resources.

  3. Departure-Arrival: Defines logistically critical start and end location points for field activity optimization.
