Manage Work Shifts

Use work shift templates to schedule work orders (WOs) for resources. Dictate exactly when a technician is available for manual or automatic scheduling. Ensure that the system accurately calculates labor capacity and prevents overlapping work assignments.

Find work shift templates

To find existing work shift templates:

  1. Navigate to Features > Core > Resource Management > Resources Work Calendar.

  2. On the bottom, click Work Shift Template.

  3. On the right, enter the criteria.

  4. Click Search.

Create a new work shift template

To add a new work shift template:

  1. At the bottom, click New.

  2. In the Work shift template window, enter:

    • Operations center: The operations center (OC) for the resource.

    • Code: The internal ID code for the shift sequence.

    • Description: A description of the shift sequence.

    • Days: The number of days for the shift sequence.

    • Starting day: The day of the week that the shift sequence starts.

    • Enabled: Whether to embed the shift sequence in the calendar.

    • Active: Whether to activate the shift sequence.

  3. Click Save.

Configure the template

To configure the work shift template:

  1. In the Work shift template table, find the template you want to configure.

  2. Click the Three dots menu > Configure.

  3. To view a list of available resources, click Resources.

  4. In the Work shift template tab, drag resources from the Resources menu to the desired day.

  5. Click the Associated Manned Facilities tab.

  6. Add the asset to the facility type.

  7. Click Save.

Add and activate work shift matrix

To create a work shift matrix:

  1. From the Resources work calendar interface, click Work Shifts Matrix.

  2. Click New.

  3. In the Creation interface, enter:

    • The work shifts template name.

    • The shift matrix parameters.

    • The work dates.

    • The application start date.

  4. Click Save.

  5. For the work matrix, click the Three dots menu  > Activate > Proceed.
