Understand clocking types

Clockings are specific periods of time when technicians can clock in or out, like shift start or shift end. These are the different types of clockings:

  • Shift start

  • Shift end

  • Start unavailability

  • End unavailability

  • Lunch break start

  • Lunch break end

Use clockings

Once you enter your clockings, you get once of these shift statuses:

  • On shift

  • Not on shift

  • Unavailable

Note: The resources not subject to clocking will appear as always on shift.

Clocking constraints

Important: Mobile clocking functionality is not yet available on the app in MAUI technology (feature porting in progress).

  • If the resource is in charge of the activities, they can’t log in unavailability or shift end.

  • If the resource isn't on shift, debriefing and interventions can’t be performed.

  • There cannot be 2 shifts with a start time on the same day.

  • On mobile, when clocking is pending, or not yet synchronized with the server, no further clocking may be registered.

  • On the server, when two clockings refer to the same previous clocking, the second clocking is marked as a duplicate.

  • Configure the operation for closing the working day during the shift end and/or the unavailability start.

Synchronize with clocking

When you call the mobile clocking functionality, the system checks the time-lapse from the last synchronization of the corresponding model. If it exceeds a given set value (i.e., 1 hour), a synchronization is launched.

  • On mobile, once clocking is saved, it automatically synchronizes.

  • When manual/server clocking validation is required, clocking approval is mandatory.
