Associate clocking types with dynamic form templates

Audience: Administrators

To create a seamless, guided workflow for the technician in the field, link specific dynamic form templates to specific clocking events throughout the day. For example, during a shift start or break, a technician might need to go through a safety checklist or vehicle inspection. To ensure compliance, a time block can only be registered once a technician completes a specific form.

Configuration

To set a 1:1 relationship between a clocking type and a dynamic form template:

  1. Navigate to the Clocking type management page.

  2. If some of your clocking types don’t require a form, leave the Optionality field blank.

  3. For mobile compatibility, only templates with this criteria will appear in the selection list:

    • Status: Must be set to Active.

    • Usage: Must be enabled for "Creation from Mobile".

    • Scope: Must be set to "Scheduling Resource".

  4. When editing a clocking type, you can use these new fields:

    • Associated dynamic form: Select the template to be triggered upon this clocking action.

    • Persistence: Once saved, the link is immediately active for all technicians who synchronize using the mobile app.

Mobile user experience

When a technician selects a clocking type that has an associated template and saves:

  1. The system automatically generates a new instance of the form.

  2. The technician is redirected immediately to the form view as part of the clocking sequence.

Enforced completion

To ensure data integrity and process compliance, the clocking event isn't registered in the system until the form is successfully saved.

If the technician attempts to exit without saving the form, the system blocks the clocking action and displays a “Form completion is required to proceednotification.
