Compare Resource Forecast

The Resource Forecast feature allows you to simulate available capacity by configuring various types of work shifts.

You can create forecasts based on either:

  • Actual resources and calendars already defined in the system.

  • Simulated resources and calendars for hypothetical scenarios.

Since a forecast is a simulation, the compare of more different forecasts help to better highlight differences between them.

A significant advantage of using resource forecasts is their complete independence from actual resource and calendar data. This means any adjustments or edits made within the forecast simulation will not impact the live operational data in your system.

Before you start

  1. Create at least two Resource Forecast

Compare Resource Forecast

  1. In the FSM App, navigate to FEATURES → FORECASTING & CAPACITY PLANNING → RESOURCE FORECAST

  2. Use the filter panel to search for existing forecast records

  3. Click the check button of max three Resource Forecasts

  4. Click the “Compare” button on the top-right of the page

The compare page shows a view similar to the calendar view, where it’s possibile to configure the view’s mode defining “Mode”, “Columns” and “Start Date” (Figure 2 - Compare view - icon 1).

Figure 2 - Compare view

In the calendar view, each forecast is represented by a different color (defined in the legend) and all resources of each forecast are listed.

If a resource is in both forecasts, the calendar cell is split by two different colored cells, one for each forecast.

Example (Figure 2 - Compare view - icon 2):

  • The resource’s work-shift with code ‘00002’ on October 2nd is:

    • 8h (2h) on forecast RFH (orange)

    • 8h (2h) on forecast RFH1 (grey)

  • So the cell is split in two cells
