To define specific characteristics for both activities and resources, use grouping constraints. The capacity planning algorithm enforces assignment constraints with the characteristics.

For example, if a resource has "Miami" set as a grouping constraint, and there is a set of activities located partly in "Miami" and partly in "San Diego," the algorithm will assign that resource only to the activities in "Miami."

Create grouping constraints

In the FSM app, click Configuration > Forecasting & capacity planning > Grouping constraints.

To search for existing records, use the filter panel.

At the top-right of the page, click New to create a new one.

Fill in all mandatory fields in the form.

To create the grouping constraint, click Save.
Edit or delete grouping constraints

In the Forecast Grouping Constraint list, click the Three dot menu next to the rows.

Select what action you want to do to the grouping constraint:
