Set up and configure Automatic Scheduling guide

Follow this step-by-step guide to enable Automatic Scheduling or virtual planning. Configure filters, priorities, simulation rules, and scheduling models.

How to set up automatic scheduling

The steps below describe, from start to finish, how to configure FSM Desktop for Automatic Scheduling. Each step is mandatory unless otherwise specified.

  1. (OPTIONAL) Configure the Work Order (WO) filters to define what types of activities to schedule automatically.

    • See Use the Main Search Filter

    • You can create one or more filters if the scheduling is differentiated by activity type or other criteria.

    • You don’t need to create a WO filter if all activities are scheduled with a single Scheduling Model.

  2. (OPTIONAL) Configure WO Priorities to automatically schedule orders based on priority or urgency.

  3. Configure the Simulation Rule to be able to aggregate the WOs Filters and WO PRIORITIES in a single rule.

    • The rule is always recalled in the scheduling model that will be created in the following steps.

    • See Simulation Rules

  4. (OPTIONAL) Creation of static crews to consider in the scheduling and define their availability. Remember to define the Scheduling Area if needed.

  5. (OPTIONAL) Creation of dynamic crews (Formations) to be considered in scheduling and defined in their availability.

  6. Creation of a Scheduling Model to be used in the Scheduling virtual plan.

  7. (OPTIONAL) VRP process association for single scheduling model. Associate the VRP process by clicking the Options button for the single defined scheduling model. Add the VRP configuration. If no process is configured, the VRP process defined at the CO level is considered. Definition of the scheduling parameters to tune.

  8. Associate the Scheduling Model for each Operations Center.

  9. Daemons Configuration.

  10. Configure the Matrix to be used by the Scheduling Engine (VRP).

  11. Configure parameters for System/Operation Center/Scheduling Model.

  12. (OPTIONAL): Enable Automatic scheduling powered by AI: Job Duration, Team Suggestion e/o ML intraday scheduling.

  13. Scheduling Management and simulation processing.

  14. (OPTIONAL): Automatic Scheduling Calendar Setting.

  15. (OPTIONAL): Evaluate the scheduling results by right-clicking the Model and selecting Daily Plan.

  16. (OPTIONAL): VRP Log Analysis.

  17. (OPTIONAL): Scheduling Data Model Analysis.

  18. (OPTIONAL): Scheduling Models Results Compare.

  19. (OPTIONAL): Additional scheduling features: Day Saturation Rules, Daily Engagement Rules, Activity Rules.
