Manage Crew Shell Members

Managing your Crew Shells involves more than just creating a template; you also need to assign and manage the technicians who make up each crew. This process includes adding or removing team members, designating a team leader, and understanding the status of your crew compositions.

Access Crew Shell Members

To access and manage Crew Shell members, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Crew Shell Monitor (Main Menu > Features > Core > Resource Management > Crew Shell > Crew Shell Monitor).

  2. From the Crew Shells List, select the specific Crew Shell for which you want to manage members.

  3. In the Crew Shell details, navigate to the Crew Shell Members section.

Add a Technician to a Crew Shell

To add a technician to a Crew Shell:

  1. In the Crew Shell Members section, click Assign Technicians.

  2. In the Select Technicians window, use the search and filter options to find the desired technician.

  3. Select the technician from the list and click Assign Technicians. The system adds the selected technician to the Crew Shell's member list.

Define a Technician as a Team Leader

Every Crew Shell can have only one team leader. To designate a technician as the team leader:

  1. From the Crew Shell Members section, locate the technician you want to designate as the team leader.

  2. Click Set As new Foreman in the technician’s line menu.

Remove a Technician from a Crew Shell

To remove a technician from a Crew Shell:

  1. In the Crew Shell Members section, locate the technician you want to remove.

  2. Click Unassign in the technician’s line menu.

  3. Confirm the removal.

Understand Crew Shell Member Validity

When adding technicians to a Crew Shell, the system validates the assignment based on time constraints. If a technician is already assigned to another Crew Shell for an overlapped period, you will receive an alert message. This feature ensures that technicians are not double-booked and that Crew Shell compositions are accurate.

Understand Crew Composition Status: Draft vs. Confirmed

Crew compositions have one of two statuses: Draft or Confirmed. These statuses determine whether the crew is ready for scheduling.

  • Draft Status: A Draft composition is provisional and not yet finalized. This means the crew is not ready for scheduling. In the Crew Shell Calendar, a card with an orange background appears.

  • Confirmed Status: A Confirmed composition is finalized and approved. This crew is considered operational and ready for scheduling. In the Crew Shell Calendar, a card with a yellow background appears.
