Before you can use Crew Shells in NextGen FSM, you must turn them on in your license and your company's system settings. This document guides you through the process, from confirming you have the right permissions to verifying the new features are available.
Prerequisites
Make sure you have administrative privileges to modify Company Properties in NextGen FSM. If you're not familiar with this process, consult your administrator or refer to the NextGen FSM System Settings documentation.
Turn on the License Crew Shell Module
Your NextGen FSM license determines the availability of the Crew Shell module. This step involves generating a license file that includes the Crew Shell module string. To do this, follow these steps:

Access your FSM License Management tool or contact your system administrator.

Locate the section where you manage the license’s module strings.

Add the string code
fsm.crewshellsto the license’s list of active modules. -
Generate a new license file in XML or a similar format that incorporates the new license file.

Load the generated license file into NextGen FSM. For more information on license management, see the New Licenses Management documentation.
Note: Ensure that the related software project packages (geocall-fsm.integration.crewshells.rs1 and geocall-fsm.integration.crewshells) are included in your project's POM file to support the module's functionalities.
Activate the Crew Shell Module
To turn on the Crew Shell module functionalities in your NextGen FSM environment, follow these steps:

Navigate to the "Company " section within NextGen FSM in Technical Settings.

Set the value of parameter
company.fsm.module.crewshellstotrue.-
This typically involves changing a boolean flag or selecting 'true' from a drop-down menu.

Preview and Apply the changes to the Company Properties.
Verify Crew Shell Management Activation
After you load the license and set the company property to true, the Crew Shell functionalities become accessible in NextGen FSM.

Confirm Menu Items: Check your Main Menu to ensure the following items are now visible and accessible:

Main Menu > FEATURES > CORE > RESOURCE MANAGEMENT > Crew Shells > Crew Shell > Crew Shell Monitor.

Main Menu > FEATURES > CORE > RESOURCE MANAGEMENT > Crew Shells > Crew Shell Calendar.

Main Menu > CONFIGURATION > CORE > RESOURCE MANAGEMENT > Crew Shell > Crew Shell Configuration.

Main Menu > CONFIGURATION > CORE > RESOURCE MANAGEMENT > Crew Shell > Crew Shell Types.

Important: If the license isn't correctly set or present in the system, these menu items aren’t shown, and you can’t configure or use the Crew Shell module.
