Define the high-level asset categories, such as transformer, vehicle, or pump, and their hierarchical rules. Create a structured, predictable framework for data collection and reporting. Ensure that technicians and planners interact with consistent asset models across the entire organization.
Search for existing facility type

Navigate to Configuration > Core > Asset Management > Facility Type.

Enter the following information in the Filters menu:

Code: The facility type’s unique ID.

Description: The facility type’s description.
-
Master data type: The type of facility, which could be a technical object or a customer.

Click Search.
Add a new facility type

Navigate to Configuration > Core > Asset Management > Facility Type.

Click the New icon.
-
Click one of the following options:
-
New Facility Type: A new facility.
-
New Consumer Type: A new customer.
-
New Owner Type: A new facility owner.
-
New Family Type: A group of similar facilities.
-
-
Enter the following mandatory information:
-
Code: The data type’s unique internal code.
-
Description: The data type’s description.
-
-
Click Save.
Define facility type hierarchy
Determine the facility types to add as children of a certain type. Throughout the development, the system will only allow the input of the children nodes that have been authorized within the hierarchy.

Click the three dots menu for the new facility type.
-
Click Facility Type Hierarchy.
-
Select facilities that you want to add to the hierarchy in the Not associated facility types list and drag them to the Associated Facility types list.

Click Save.
Assign default features
The default features of a given technical object type let you determine the attributes to automatically associate when creating the technical object, such as:

Default feature values.
-
Whether a feature is in edit or read-only mode.
-
Conditions you must meet to compile the features.
NOTE: This configuration allows to associate to the type of technical object the features belonging to one or more classes.

Click the three dots menu for the new facility type.

Click Default facility type features.
-
Select the following information from the drop-down menus:

Class: The facility characteristics class.
-
Feature: The feature to automatically apply to this asset type.

Click Insert.
Enable Visibility
After you create the new facility type, you must make it visible for specific user types.

Navigate to Configuration > Core > User > User Types.
-
Click the three dots menu for a specific user type.
-
Click Enabling facility type.
-
Check the box for your new Facility Type to make it visible to those users.
-
Click Save.
