The structured hierarchy of technical objects defines how assets are categorized, what data they collect, and how their operational status is determined.
Feature classes
Classes group different features together, such as electrical specifications or physical dimensions.
Add a new feature class
To add a new class of features:

Navigate to Configuration > Core > Additional Parameters > Characteristics > Characteristic Classes.

Click New characteristic class.

Enter:
-
Type: The characteristic class type.
-
Description: The feature class description.

Characteristic class type: Select either:
-
Facilities.
-
Materials.
-
-
Visible: Whether to make the feature class visible to users.
-

Click Save.
Edit feature class
To edit a class of features:

In the List of features class table, click the Three dots menu.
-
Click Edit Feature class.
-
Edit the feature class’s information as needed.
-
Click Save.
Value lists
Value lists create the dropdown menus that fill out asset features, like a list of manufacturer names.
Add a new value list
To create a new value list:

Navigate to Configuration > Core > Additional Parameters > Characteristics > Value Lists.

Click New drop-down list.
-
Enter the following information:

Code: The value list internal code.
-
Description: The value list description.
-
Sorting: Where the value list is in the priority list.

Visible: Whether to make the feature class visible to users.

Click Save.
Edit a value list
To modify a value list:

In the Search menu, enter:

Code: The value list internal code.
-
Description: The value list description.
-
Sorting: Where the value list is in the priority list.

Visible: Whether the feature class is visible to users.

Click Search.
-
On the dropdown value, click the Three dots menu.

Click Edit.
-
In the List of drop-down values section, click New value.

For each menu item, enter:

Value.
-
Code.
-
Order.
-
-
Click Insert.
Features
Features are the specific data points or attributes collected for an asset.
Add a new feature characteristic
To create a new feature characteristic:

Navigate to Configuration > Core > Asset Management > Facility Features.

Click New characteristic.
-
Enter the following information:

Type: The characteristic’s type, such as measures or object attributes.
-
Description: The feature description.
-
Class: The feature characteristic class.
-
Value Type: The characteristic value type, such as text or number.

Click Insert.
Modify a feature characteristic
To change a characteristic of a feature:

Search for existing characteristics in the Search menu.

In the list, click a characteristic.
-
Edit the characteristic’s information.
-
Click Modify.
