Configure asset value lists

Audience: Administrators, dispatchers

To ensure data consistency, only allow users to enter predefined values. Use value lists to create standardized dropdown menus for your asset’s characteristics. 

Prerequisites

• To understand how to configure assets, see Structure asset data.

• To group characteristics into classes, see Configure asset characteristics classes.

• To define characteristics of an asset, see Configure asset characteristics.

Add a new value list

To create a new value list:

1. Navigate to Configuration > Core > Additional Parameters > Characteristics > Value Lists.

2. Click + New drop-down list.

3. Enter:

   • Code: The value list internal code.

   • Description: The value list description.

   • Sorting: Where the value list is in the priority list.

   • Visible: Whether to make the value list visible to users.

4. Click Save.

Edit a value list

To modify a value list:

1. In the Search tab, as needed, enter:

   • Code: The value list internal code.

   • Description: The value list description.

   • Sorting: Where the value list is in the priority list.

   • Visible: Whether the characteristic class is visible to users.

2. Click Search.

3. In the List of dropdown values table, next to the desired value, click the Three dots menu.

4. Click Edit.

5. In the List of drop-down values section, click + New value.

6. In the Enter/Edit drop down list, as needed, enter:

   • Value: The actual value displayed to the user.

   • Code: The value code.

   • Order: The value’s position in the dropdown menu.

   • Visible: Whether the characteristic class is visible to users.

7. Click Save.
