Create an operation type

Audience: Dispatchers and administrators

Add a new work order (WO) operation type to categorize the task. To create complex WO operation types, categorize work based on the technical nature of the activity.

Follow the UI path

All following instructions start from this system path:

1. Navigate to Configuration > Core > Work Order Management > WO Operation Types.

2. On the Work order operation types page, click the Operation types button.

Add an operation type

To add a type of technical activity:

1. On the Operation types page, click the + New button.

2. In the Operation type window, enter:

   • Code: The WO operation type’s unique internal ID.

   • Description: The WO operation type’s description.

   • Order: The order the system uses to prioritize the resource type.

   • Active: Whether the WO operation type is active.

3. Click Insert.

Edit an operation type

To change a type of technical activity:

1. In the Operation types table, click the operation type you want to edit.

2. In the Operation type window, edit the information as needed.

3. Click Save.
