Use real-time traffic in the emergency response process

Configure the matrix for real-time traffic

To ensure data is current, create a dedicated matrix that bypasses standard caching:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Scheduling Optimization > Matrix.

  2. Create a new dedicated matrix.

  3. In the Routing Configuration and Matrix Configuration, manually add these parameters:

    • engine = “TOMTOM_REAL_TIME”: Sets the traffic provider in Matrix Configuration

    • routingEngine = “TOMTOM_REAL_TIME”: Sets the traffic provider in Routing Configuration

    • Note: The cache is hard-coded to disabled for this matrix.

Configure company parameters

Define the when and where for real-time calculations:

  • Real-time traffic timeframe: Defines the window of time (in minutes) from the current time.

    • If a transfer starts within this window (Now to Now + Timeframe), the system triggers a real-time request.

  • Real-time traffic space: Specifies the code of the space used for these calculations.

Activate traffic logic

Activate the traffic logic within your specific emergency response model:

  1. Click the Emergency Response Model.

  2. Click the Emergency Response Parameters tab.

  3. Select both these options:

    • Use real-time traffic in recalibrate: Applies live data in the initial resource preparation.

    • Use real-time traffic in emergency response selection: Applies live data to identify the fastest technician for a new urgent task.

  4. Click Save.

How the system processes traffic data

Sub-tasks use live data in different ways:

Sub-task

Traffic Logic

Recalibrate

If enabled, the system uses live traffic data to recalculate travel time in the timeframe.

Emergency Assignment

If the travel start time is within the configured timeframe, the system calculates arrival times.

Reprocessing

The system doesn’t use live traffic.
