NextGen FSM

Create Work Orders

Overview

Work Orders (WOs) form the core of your field service process in the NextGen FSM Platform. You use them to manage, track, and execute service interventions in the field.

Every Work Order is structured with two main sections detailing the intervention: the Header, which contains general information (such as location, priority, and required skills), and Operations, which lists the specific, detailed tasks you must complete to resolve the intervention. For more information, see Work Order.

You can create a Work Order in several ways:

  • Internal: Create the WO directly within the NextGen FSM platform.

    • Manual: Create the WO directly in Geocall server side.

    • Automated: Based on the repetitive activities generator or event activities generator (RAG/EAG) rules.

    • Field: Through field generation from the Geocall mobile application (field notification).

  • External Systems: Import WOs from other enterprise systems.

    • WOs are imported from external systems (system integration) like ERP, CRM, or EAM, with either complete or reduced process data flow.

    • Includes WO triggers automatically sent from IoT devices and field sensors (automated triggers).

  • File Import: Import WOs in bulk.

    • WOs are generated through a file import process.
