Viewing Material Serial Codes
In field operations, precision is critical when handling high-value or tracked equipment. This topic explains how to view the serial codes assigned to materials within a Procurement Request, ensuring you pick up the correct physical assets.
Overview
When a Procurement Request includes serialized materials, the system associates identification codes with those items. Before pickup, the technician can consult these codes on a mobile device. This read-only feature lets you verify physical serial numbers against the digital request, reducing errors and improving equipment traceability without contacting warehouse staff.
How to view serial codes
Follow these steps to access serial information for a material position.
Prerequisites
-
You must have a Procurement Request assigned or visible in your Procurement Request Monitor in state “Fully delivered” or “Partially Delivered”.
-
Your device must be synchronized to ensure the latest serial data is available locally.
Steps
-
Navigate to the Procurement Request Monitor on your mobile device.
-
Select the Procurement Request in “Fully delivered” or “Partially Delivered” status, then open the Procurement Request Detail view.
-
Locate the material position to verify; it should correspond to a serialized material.
-
Note: Positions with associated serials display the Serial/Document icon. If no serials are associated, this icon and action are not visible.
-
-
Tap the View Serials action (document icon next to the material line).
-
A modal window will display:
-
Material Header: Shows the code and description of the serialized material (e.g., FSCWA1.1.1.3-7 - Opt: 3 brush).
-
Serial List: A read-only list of all serial codes (e.g., XS_23427) assigned to that position.
-
-
Scroll vertically to review all codes if the list exceeds the screen height.
-
Tap Close to return to the Position Detail screen.
