Overview
Notifications have the same life cycle regardless of their origin and link to work orders (WO) for standard work force management (WFM) scheduling.
Notifications can originate from the following sources:

External system: Within an SAP integration scenario, the WFM often processes notifications during the second stage of their life cycle.

Server: In a standard plant scenario, users create notifications from their fixed workstations (for example, from technical object, from notifications monitor).

Mobile: Field technicians, whether they are in the field or within the plant, create notifications based on the situations they encounter.

Work order: Specific inspection orders within the standard WO flow may require you to create notifications (server or mobile).
Before you start
Before you can create notifications, you must configure a set of information in the settings and catalogs menu. See Configure Catalog Objects.
Create a Notification
There are two ways to create notifications:

Quick notification: Create a notification with a reduced dashboard designed for faster input with one position only.

Full notification: Create a notification with multiple positions and detailed data input through tabs.

Create a Quick Notification
To create a quick notification, follow these steps:

Navigate to Features > Notification Management > Search Notifications.

Close the Filters panel.
-
Select Quick New Notification.
-
Select a Type.
-
Provide mandatory parameters.
-
Select an Operations Center and a Work Center.
-
Select a Priority.
-
Enter a Description.
-
If you selected Extraordinary maintenance as type, you also must select a Code.

(Optional) Provide optional parameters such as a position note or information about the cause.

Select Confirm.
Create a Full Notification
To create a quick notification, follow these steps:

Navigate to Features > Notification Management > Search Notifications.

Close the Filters panel.
-
Select New Notification.
-
Select a Type.
-
In the Header tab, provide mandatory parameters.

Select an Operations Center and a Work Center.
-
Select a Priority.
-
Enter a Description.
-
Select a Consumer/Facility.
-

If you selected Extraordinary maintenance as type, you also must provide information about the anomaly.

In the Positions panel, select Edit Position (pen icon).

Select a Type, Group, and Code.
-
Select Ok.
-

(Optional) Provide optional parameters such as information about the cause or fields in the Data Management, Notes, or Connected Notifications tab.

Select Save.

Defines the date and time the breakdown started; defaults to the current date and time if left blank. |

Properties filled automatically based on the consumer or facility entered. |

Address of the consumer or facility entered. |

The work order associated with the notification. |

Machine downtime flag |
If the selected priority mandates machine downtime, the flag is always active. If it does not mandate downtime, the flag is inactive upon opening but available for later activation. |

Define the date for accounting purposes. |

Downtime highlight |
Define the date to highlight downtime. |
|
Breakdown start |
Define the date and time the breakdown started. |

Breakdown end |
Define the date and time the breakdown ended. |

Required start date |
Define the required start date for work. |

Required end date |
Define the required end date for work. |

Closure date |
Define the date the notification was closed. |
