Reference: Daily plan Emergency response tab

A model defines the operational rules used by the emergency response task for a specific planning perimeter.

The model configuration is organized into the following tabs:

  1. General parameters

  2. Advanced parameters

  3. Reprocessing parameters

  4. Emergency response parameters

Follow the UI path

To find these tabs:

  1. Navigate to Features > Core > Daily and Multi-day Plan > Daily Plan.

  2. On the Daily plan page, click the Emergency response tab.

  3. Click the Configure model button.

  4. Choose one action:

    • Edit an existing model: In the Emergency response models table, click a model.

    • Create a new model: Click the + New model button.

General parameters tab

Important: Some fields are system-populated and read-only, while others can be configured by the user.

The General parameters tab contains the main identification, activation and validation settings of the emergency response model:

Field

Editable

Description

Id

No

A system-generated identifier of the emergency response model that’s created automatically and cannot be manually edited.

Operation center

No

Automatically populates based on the Operation Center from which the user accessed the emergency response tab.

Selection mode

No

Either includes or excludes all of the selected parameters.

Description

Yes

Describes the model for the business.

Extended description

Yes

Provides additional context about the model configuration.

Active

Yes

Enables or disables the model for emergency response

To crystallize

Yes

Indicates if the model result should be crystallized or applied to the operational daily plan according to the configured validation behavior.

Automatic validation

Yes

Defines if the result of the emergency response task can be automatically validated or needs manual confirmation.

Advanced parameters tab

The Advanced parameters tab has parameters that refine how the emergency response task evaluates resources and calculates the operational baseline before assignment. These parameters control timing thresholds, recalibration behavior, and eligibility margins. Their values directly influence the size and quality of the candidate resource set.

Parameter

Description

Max time interval since last feedback (mins)

Defines the maximum time since the technician’s last feedback or GPS synchronization. When the feedback is older than the configured threshold, the resource can be excluded because the system cannot rely on its current position.

Note: Use -1 to disable the control.

Max time interval before shift start (mins)

Defines how close a technician must be to the beginning of the shift to be considered before the shift has officially started. The same logic can also be relevant for temporary unavailability ending shortly.

Min time interval before shift end (mins)

Defines the minimum remaining time before the technician’s shift ends. If the remaining shift time is below this threshold, the technician is excluded.

Restart time interval (mins)

Defines the restart buffer added to the current time to calculate the realistic departure point during recalibration.  Note: If set to 0, no buffer is applied.

Detailed total

Enables detailed count logging for the scheduling process for troubleshooting and analysis.

Note: The detailed total should only be enabled for detailed analysis since it increases the amount of processing information stored for each run.

Reprocessing parameters tab

The Reprocessing parameters tab defines how the system reorganizes the technician’s daily plan after an emergency activity has been assigned. The system organizes the extra non-urgent work around the fixed emergency activity.

Parameter

Description

Simulation rule

The rule that determines how the system evaluates and rebuilds the remaining part of the technician’s day after the emergency assignment.

Exchange activities among resources

Whether planned activities can be moved between different resources during reprocessing. This determines the freedom the optimizer has to rebuild the remaining plan. Options include:

  • Yes: Activities can be moved to other resources.

  • No: Activities can be removed from a resource, but they aren’t reassigned to other resources in that scheduling run.

  • Only if not feasible: Activities are only reassigned if it isn’t feasible for their original resource to complete it.

  • Never remove: All activities stay on their originally assigned resource, even if they can’t be completed.

Additional activities

Whether the system can add new non-urgent activities during reprocessing.

  • If enabled, the system can use available schedulable activities to fill capacity after the emergency has been placed.

  • If disabled, reprocessing only manages activities already present in the plan. The non-urgent WOs to be considered depend on the configuration of the simulation rule.

Emergency response activities management

How emergency activities are handled during reprocessing: keep emergency response activities fixed during reprocessing.

On duty availability

Whether on-call resources are scheduled based on the simulation rule filters in the reprocessing logic.

Emergency response parameters tab

The Emergency response parameters tab has parameters for emergency response assignment logic and recalibration behavior. These parameters affect how urgent activities are ordered, how resources are recalibrated, how travel time is calculated, and how final assignment constraints such as SLA, distance, and lunch break are applied.

Parameter

Description

Sorting rule

The processing order of urgent WO operations when more than one urgent activity is available in the same task run.

Note: Standard behavior only processes urgent activities by insert date.

Interval last recalibrate (min)

The minimum interval that passes before a resource or team can be recalibrated again. This avoids repeated recalculations too close together and reduces processing load.

Notes:

  • If the interval has not elapsed, recalibration can be skipped and the last known recalibrated information is reused.

  • If no model value is defined, the company-level value is used.

Simulate recalibrate

Whether recalibration happens in simulation mode or causes a real update.

  • When enabled, the system calculates the recalibrated plan in memory without writing changes to the database.

  • When disabled, the recalibrated plan is written to the database and resources are locked during processing.

Use real-time traffic in recalibrate

Whether the system uses real-time traffic in the recalibration phase to calculate travel and operational baseline information.

Use real-time traffic in emergency response

Whether the system uses real-time traffic in the emergency response assignment calculation.

Max straight-line distance (m)

The maximum straight-line distance between the resource start point and the urgent WO location. Resources beyond this distance are excluded before more expensive routing calculations are performed.

Schedule after SLA

Whether the system can assign an urgent WO even if the calculated arrival time is after the SLA.

Note: In emergency response, the SLA reference is represented by the Work order work interval to field.

Lunch break delta (min)

The maximum delay allowed after the start of a planned lunch break. If the lunch break hasn’t been completed and the emergency would finish after Planned lunch break start + Lunch break delta, the resource is excluded.

Position type

Where the emergency activity goes in the technician’s plan based on the configured emergency scheduling logic. Only the “Insert after the last immediate activity” is available.
