Transparent Management of Crew Shells on Mobile
The core principle of Crew Shell management on the FSM Mobile App is its transparency. This means that, from the technician's perspective on the mobile device, the process of managing activities assigned to a Crew Shell does not fundamentally differ from the usual management of activities assigned to individual technicians or traditional teams. The mobile app seamlessly integrates Crew Shells into the existing workflow for work order execution.
Dispatching Crew Shells to Mobile Devices
While Crew Shell management is transparent on the mobile app, there's a specific condition for dispatching them:
-
Dispatch Requirement: A Crew Shell can only be dispatched from the Daily Plan to mobile devices if it is composed of at least one member to whom activities have been scheduled.
-
Undispatchable Crew Shells: Crew Shells that are not yet "formed" (meaning they have zero associated technicians), even if they have scheduled activities, cannot be dispatched to the mobile app. This ensures that only physically capable teams receive tasks.
When tasks scheduled to a Crew Shell are dispatched, all resources who are members of that Crew Shell will gain the ability to see all of that Crew's Work Orders on their mobile agenda.
Receiving and Managing Activities on Mobile Devices
Once activities scheduled to a Crew Shell are planned and validated in the FSM Platform, field technicians receive them on their mobile devices.
-
Synchronization: Activities become available on the mobile device after the next synchronization cycle following the validation step.
-
Consistent Workflow: The operations for managing work orders on the mobile device remain consistent for technicians, regardless of whether they are acting as a foreman or an assistant within a Crew Shell.
Recap and Further Exploration
The FSM Mobile App facilitates a transparent and integrated management experience for Crew Shells, allowing for efficient dispatch and execution of team-based activities. The key is that once a Crew Shell has at least one member and activities are assigned, the mobile workflow for technicians is straightforward and familiar.
