Configure the Field Execution module

Audience: Administrators

To provide users with a focused map-based workflow to inspect work orders (WOs) and related operations, configure around specific operation centers (OCs) and WO criteria.

Prerequisites

  • Check if you have purchased and activated the field execution module.

  • In NextGen Geo, create a module_workorder.

  • Get access to the module’s zone. See Users and permissions.

Configure module_field_execution

To configure your execution module:

  1. Click the Open configuration window button.

  2. At the top, click the Module button.

  3. In the Modules window, either:

    • To create a new module, click the New module button

    • To edit an existing module, click the Edit icon for a module with xtype module_field_execution.

  4. Click the Properties tab.

  5. Enter the module’s properties.

  6. Click the Configuration tab.

  7. Configure the module.

    • See the table below.

  8. Click Save.

  9. Optional: To import data, after configuration, click:

    • Yes: Import your data from NextGen FSM.

      • Note: This process doesn't clone the full data from FSM, but it creates a cache of relevant fields of data.

    • No: Don’t import your data from NextGen FSM.

      • Note: To enter data later, save the configuration again.

Note: If a zone or structure doesn't exist for a selected OC, the system creates one, maps it to a new zone, and links it to the new OC.

Limit the WOs displayed by the module to a specific organizational or geographical scope. Select OCs available in NextGen FSM via API. 

Notes: 

  • Each OC can be assigned to only one module at a time.

  • Administrators can associate the module with one or more OCs.

Work order status

To focus only on WOs relevant for execution or monitoring, select WO statuses available in NextGen FSM via API, such as:

  • Open.

  • Planned.

  • Schedulable.

  • In charge.

  • To reschedule.

Work order type

Multi-select

Select one or more WO types available in NextGen FSM via API.

Note: If no specific type is selected, the module relies on other configured criteria.

Work orders created in the last:

Numeric

To focus the map’s operational dataset on recent activities, define the WO creation date.

Note: This value is delimited by the system property: fsm.maxWorkorderTTL

Language to use for the import

Dropdown

Formats and translates imported data strings into the chosen interface language.
