Introduction
In data-driven environments, categorizing collected information is essential for clarity and efficiency. Data Collection Type is a configurable field designed to help organize data collection efforts within the system. By linking templates and sheets to specific types—such as business areas or operational categories—users can maintain better structure and oversight of their data.
While this feature enhances organization, it remains optional: users can still create and use Data Collection Templates or Sheets without associating them with a Data Collection Type.
Accessing Data Collection Types
You can configure Data Collection Types from the following path:
Main Menu > Configuration > Mobile Forms > Types
Data Collection Type Interface Overview
Main View
The Data Collection Type main view displays a list of all existing types and includes a Filters panel on the right side to assist with search and navigation.
Type List
This section shows all existing Data Collection Types and offers functionality to create new entries or edit existing ones.
Header Functions
The header includes the following tools:

Vertical Lines Menu: Allows users to hide or unhide table columns.

Vertical Dots Menu: Opens options to create a new type or refresh the table.

New Button: Opens the form to create a new Data Collection Type.

Refresh Button: Updates the table with the latest data.
Type Table Columns
Each row in the Types table displays the following information:

Id: Unique identifier
-
Code: Short reference code (mandatory)
-
Description: Textual explanation (mandatory and supports multi-language input)

Active: Status indicator (active/inactive)
Filtering Data Collection Types
The Filters panel on the right allows users to refine the list by specifying values for:

Code: Search using a specific string
-
Description: Search using a specific string
-
Active Status: Toggle among three status values by clicking the icon
Creating a Data Collection Type
To create a new Data Collection Type, click either the "New" button or select "Create New Type" from the vertical dots menu.
Fill in the following fields:

Code (required)
-
Description (required; supports multiple languages)
-
Active (optional)
Click Save to confirm and create the new type, or Cancel to discard changes.
Editing a Data Collection Type
To edit an existing Data Collection Type:

Click the vertical dots menu on the desired row and select Edit, or
-
Click anywhere within the row to open the editing view.
The following fields can be modified:

Description
-
Active
Click Save to apply the changes or Cancel to close without saving.
