The FSM has several Core Configuration settings that are necessary to use the software. These primarily include tables among the app’s Configuration menus, but they also include the parameters set in the app’s Core System Settings form.
The main Core Configuration tables that need to be populated are those that maintain the FSM’s Users (and their associated app permissions), those that define the operational territories of the FSM work (including Operations Centers, Structures, and Areas) and those that keep track of the system’s cartographic data. There are many additional tables that are configurable on an optional basis.
For the most part, these tables and parameters are set when the FSM is initially set up, and they aren’t modified very much afterwards. However, in most cases it’s possible to do so.
Setting the Core Configuration enables you to use all of the other FSM modules. To learn more about how to configure and schedule your workforce, read about the Resource Management module. To learn more about how to define your customers' assets, read about the Asset Management module. To learn more about how to define the units of work that are carried out by your workforce, read about the Work Order Management module.
The main entities in the FSM’s Core Configuration are defined below. Click the name of the entity to read more about it on that entity’s main page.
