Configure a Multi-Attachment Node

This guide provides instructions on how to configure a "Multi-Attachment" node in dynamic forms in OverIT's NextGen FSM platform. By configuring this node, you can enable users to upload multiple files, including photos captured directly from their devices, and define specific criteria for these attachments.

Before you begin

Ensure you have access to the dynamic forms configuration within the FSM product. This task assumes you are in the process of defining or modifying a dynamic form.

How to Configure Multi-Attachment Node Options

  1. Add a Multi-Attachment Node: Insert a new "Multi-Attachment" node into your dynamic form.

  2. Define Attachment Limits:

    • In the “Max KB Size” field, define the maximum file size allowed for each individual attachment.

    • In the “Max Attachment Number” field, define the maximum number of attachments that can be uploaded to this specific node.

  3. Specify Allowed File Extensions:

    • Locate the “File Extensions” table.

    • To select file formats, use the drag-and-drop option to move desired formats from the "Available" section to the "Selected" section.

    • Supported file extensions include:

      • Documents: .txt, .doc, .docx, .pdf, .rtf, .xls, .xlsx.

      • Images: .gif, .png.

      • Videos: .mpg, .mp2, .mpeg, .mpe, .mpv, .m2c, .avi, .mov, .qt, .flv.

Configure Dynamic Behavior using Expressions

The Multi-Attachment node supports expressions, allowing dynamic behavior based on certain conditions.

  1. Access Expression Settings: Locate the expression configuration section for the Multi-Attachment node.

  2. Define Conditions for Dynamic Behavior:

    • To control visibility: Set conditions to make the node visible or hidden.

    • To enforce mandatory input: Configure conditions to make the node mandatory based on specific criteria.

    • To auto-populate data: Define conditions to automatically fill the field with a photo or pre-fill the node with other data.

    • To set read-only status: Specify conditions to make the node read-only. In read-only mode, the fields will appear in grey to clearly indicate that they cannot be edited.

After you finish

Once configured, the Multi-Attachment node will allow users to upload multiple files, including photos, from their device’s library, related to operating fields or workstations, or from server-side operations. Users can also download, rename, or delete attached files.
