A Company (often referred to as a Tenant) is a dedicated, isolated workspace or environment within the software application. When establishing the standard configuration, defining the company is a mandatory step that occurs simultaneously with the initialization of the database (DB).
By creating a "Company" in a multi-tenant software architecture, you are essentially setting up a distinct instance of the platform for a specific client, brand, or business unit. This architecture ensures:
-
Data Isolation: The company's database, configurations, and live operational data are kept entirely separate and secure from other companies on the same server or cluster.
-
Unique Identification: It operates under a unique ID and login structure (which is why the setup requires a specific package name and a dedicated
name.surnameadministrator). -
Customization: It allows the new workspace to feature its own project-specific menus, workflows, and hierarchies (such as Organizational Structures and Areas) without altering the main administrative baseline system.
