Work Order Operation Type

Overview

This guide explains how to configure Work Order (WO) Operation Types, which are essential for defining specific operations within a work order. Before you can define a WO Operation Type, you must first create its prerequisite components: the Operation Type, Resource Type, and Work Center Type.

This process can be done manually through the FSM configuration menus or in bulk using the Data Import/Export Tool.

Define Prerequisite Components Manually

Follow these steps to create the necessary components one by one in the FSM interface.

Prerequisites

  • You need the appropriate permissions to access the FSM Configuration menus.

1. Create an Operation Type

This component defines the general category of the work to be performed.

  1. Navigate to MAIN MENU > CONFIGURATION > CORE > WORK ORDER MANAGEMENT > WO OPERATION TYPES

  2. Click on “Operation Types” at the bottom of the page

  3. Click on “New” at the bottom of the page

  2. Click on “Work Center Types” at the bottom of the page

  3. Click on “New” at the bottom of the page

Create the New WO Operation Type

Once the prerequisite components are defined, you can combine them to create the final WO Operation Type.

Procedure

  1. [cite_start]Navigate to MAIN MENU > CONFIGURATION > CORE > WORK ORDER MANAGEMENT > WO OPERATION TYPE

  2. Click on “New” at the top-right of the page

  3. Select the Operation Type, Resource Type, and Work Center Type from the lists you previously created.

  4. Click Save.

Task Recap

You have now successfully defined a new Work Order Operation Type by creating its individual components and combining them. This configuration provides a unique and detailed definition for operations within the FSM platform.

Import Components in Bulk

For large-scale configurations, you can use the Data Import/Export Tool to import all necessary components from an .xls file.
