Capacity Modeling & Grid Simulations

Effective dispatching requires a flexible model to define resource limits without incurring real-time computing bottlenecks. The booking logic details the configuration of the underlying Scheduling Grid, which translates granular geographic configurations into definitive appointment quotas across various demand scenarios. As result, a regional managers can dynamically scale slot capacities (from baseline ORD through emergency OV2) to capture shifting market demands without disrupting core scheduling stability.

Scheduling grid simulation

The scheduling grid simulation acts as the foundation for generating calendars across specific geographic Areas and Sub-areas. When activated, these simulations establish precise capacity constraints by calculating the maximum number of appointments allowed per time slot within a designated territorial zone.

Each distinct time slot inside a Sub-zone's simulation calendar is constrained by a matrix of three operational availability thresholds:

Availability Tier

System ID

Operational Purpose

Ordinary Availability

ORD

Baseline workforce capacity under normal operating conditions.

First-Level Extra Capacity

OV1

Initial tier of managed overbooking to capture high-priority demand.

Second-Level Extra Capacity

OV2

Maximum emergency overbooking capacity for extreme operational constraints.

At the macro Zone level, the system dynamically computes the total simulation calendar via a direct summation of the parameterized values (ORD, OV1, and OV2) across all child Sub-zones and time slots.

Availability limits are always defined and expressed as a raw number of available appointments, rather than precise execution durations.

Counting capacities by discrete appointment units allows field personnel to intuitively gauge operational velocity on-site. Real-time task duration variances are instead managed directly during execution.
