-
Id: The internal identifier automatically assigned to the role when it is created

-
Active: Indicates whether the role is active
-
This should be indicated/checked during activity validation.
-
-
Sorting: Indicates the sorting criterion and how roles are displayed
-
Minimum Number: The least amount of resources with a role needed to validate the activity and dispatch
-
Maximum Number: The most resources with a role needed to validate the activity and dispatch

Assign roles to schedule resources
Once you configure your roles, resources can use them to execute activities.
-
In the Scheduling Resources list, click the Three dot menu of a resource.
-
Select Skill, Qualifications and Roles.
-
Assign a role to the resource.
Validate scheduled activities
After the roles are correctly assigned to team members, the activity can be validated and dispatched.
Validate automatically
When scheduled activities are validated, Next-Gen checks that cardinality constraints (minimum number-maximum number) for each active role are met.
-
If all constraints are met, the validation process is complete and activities are dispatched to the technicians.
-
If the constraints aren’t met, the validation process stops and gives an alert.
Validate manually
To check an activity’s validation manually:
-
Click the Context menu of the activity.
-
In the dropdown menu, select Roles.
-
In the Roles panel, check the role of each resource in the activity execution:
-
When the user looks for a resource/role, FSM verifies the role is associated with the resource in the Skill, Qualifications and Roles feature.
-
If the resource can perform the role, the information is saved.
-
If a resource cannot exercise the role, the system gives an alert.
-
Note: The Roles panel has two sections:
-
Roles: Lists resources in the team scheduled for the activity with a column for each configured active role.
-
Planned activities: A list of all the team’s scheduled activities for the shift with the highlighted activity selected.
