Use Case 4: Multi-Criteria Service Search

Objective

A large utility company provides a variety of services including electricity, gas, water, and fiber optic installations and repairs across a vast geographic area. Efficiently detect services and find right information in a huge set of services, can be a complex task.

Primary Actors: GIS Analysts

Main flow:

  1. Service Categorization

    1. Services are categorized based on utility type (electricity, gas, water, fiber optic)

  2. Service Catalogues: Services can be organized into catalogues in order to group them and to enable the catalogue only on one or more functional groups.

  3. Keyword Search

    1. Allows searching for services using keywords to optimize the search

  4. Load service on the map

    1. After finding the right services, the user can load it on the map

  5. Applies field conditions:

    1. Search can be refined based on more service fields, such as geographic location, technician availability, required certifications.
