Serve query results in a compact format
Query results can return in a compact binary format in addition to the standard JSON response.
Encoding geometries in binary significantly reduces byte size. This accelerates data loading during high-impact operations, such as panning across dense areas, rendering thousands of features, or operating over slow mobile connections.
The map automatically requests the compact format when supported, while maintaining standard JSON availability for all other clients. No user configuration is required.
Reuse recent results with caching
GeoSmartOperation stores recent query results in a shared cache. When users request the same data repeatedly—such as multiple users viewing the same area or a single user panning across the map—the system serves the response from the cache instead of querying the source database.
Set cache validity duration per layer based on update frequency:
|
Layer type |
Suggested validity |
|
Data with continuous changes (for example, active work orders) |
Short validity to maintain near real-time data. |
|
Reference or infrastructure data (rarely changes) |
Long validity to maximize cache usage. |
Layers without explicit settings use the default system validity, keeping caching active by default.
Run multiple instances
Deploy multiple GeoSmartOperation instances behind a load balancer to run as a single unified service.
Background operations store execution state centrally rather than on individual nodes. Any instance can report status or retrieve results, regardless of which instance started the task.
Multi-instance deployment provides:
-
Horizontal scaling: Add instances to increase capacity without resizing single nodes.
-
Fault tolerance: Node failures do not interrupt completed background operations.
-
Load balancer optimization: Load balancing operates cleanly without sticky session requirements.
