Configure Your Organization's Territorial Structure

This topic explains how to set up the territorial structure in the FSM product, which is essential for representing the geographic areas where your customer operates and for scheduling activities.

When to Perform This Task

You should configure your territorial structure when initially setting up FSM for a new customer, or when a customer's operational geography changes. This configuration involves defining "Structures" and "Operation Centers".

Prerequisites

Before configuring your territorial structure, ensure you have the necessary permissions to access the "Configuration" menu in FSM.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Add a New Structure

Structures represent the overarching territorial divisions within your organization.

  1. From the MAIN MENU, navigate to CONFIGURATION > CORE > ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE > STRUCTURE[cite: 38].

  2. Click ADD STRUCTURE[cite: 38].

  3. Enter a descriptive Description for the new structure[cite: 38].

  4. Click the "Insert" button to save the structure[cite: 38].

2. Add a New Operations Center

Operations Centers are specific locations within a Structure that serve as bases for scheduling activities. Each Operations Center must be associated with a default address and can have additional addresses[cite: 38].

  1. From the MAIN MENU, navigate to CONFIGURATION > CORE > ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE > OPERATIONS CENTER[cite: 38].

  2. Click ADD OPERATIONS CENTER[cite: 38].

  3. Fill in the following mandatory fields:

    • Code: Enter a unique code for the Operations Center[cite: 38].

    • Structure: Select the code of the reference Structure that this Operations Center belongs to[cite: 38].

    • Description: Enter a description for the Operations Center[cite: 38].

  4. To associate a default address, select "Default Addresses Configuration" from the three-dots menu[cite: 38].

  5. From the Operations menu within the "Default Addresses Configuration" section, select "New Address"[cite: 38].

  6. Fill in the following mandatory fields for the new address:

    • Description [cite: 38]

    • City [cite: 38]

    • Coordinates [cite: 38]

  7. To add coordinates, click the "Manual Coordinates Input" button and enter the latitude and longitude in the displayed window[cite: 38].

  8. Repeat steps 5-7 to associate any additional addresses with the same Operations Center[cite: 38].
